Workforce Readiness
Dates: August 24, 2026 – November 7, 2026
*Participants must be based in Austin, TX (or surrounding areas)
A self-paced 3-month program with monthly cohort meetings and professional development opportunities.
Workforce Readiness is a program designed to help adults start, improve, or change their career path. Participants will have the opportunity to earn certifications in a skill of their choice while joining a supportive network of peers.
- Participants will receive enrollment to Coursera for one certification course of choice (at no cost to participants) and online support through Latinitas.
- Participants will have access to professional development workshops, with themes including but not limited to resume building, soft skills, and interview skills.
Latinitas believes in empowering individuals to confidently navigate their career journey and achieve their goals.
This program is open to all adults, regardless of employment status/experience.
Course launch date:
- Monday, August 24, 2026: Virtual Orientation/Welcome 7–8pm *required*
Course Requirements:
- Weekly modules/coursework (self-paced) through Coursera
- Monthly Virtual Meeting/Learning Workshops 7–8PM: August 24th, September 28th, October 26th
- Monthly Meetups *optional*: August 29th, September & October dates TBD based on participant feedback
- Final Closing *in person*: Saturday, November 7th 10–12PM, Latinitas' Office, more details to come
FAQ
Who can register for this program?
Anyone over the age of 18 looking to enhance their resume, improve or learn a particular skill, change or advance in their career. Participants can enroll in coursework regardless of current employment status.
How much time is required to finish a course?
This program is self-paced. The time it takes to complete a certification is completely dependent on the participant's time commitment/schedule. Your certification will consist of videos and modules with quizzes and short form responses. Latinitas knows that life happens! We offer support throughout a completion window of 3 months and ask that participants finish at least one course in their certificate before our closing celebration in order to receive a certificate of completion from Latinitas.
Can I participate in the program if I do not live in Austin?
Yes, however—this program is targeted for Austin and the surrounding areas as participants will receive invitations to meet in-person for various chats and/or workshops. Our goal is for each cohort to grow into its own community. Please note, our final closing is required and an in-person event.
